Experiment on Digital Identities

There's going to be some change of plans. Instead of Orkut, we will be using digital_identities@yahoogroups.com (found under Games/role-playing games) for this experiment.

Objectives of the Game

This is an experimental group game intended to welcome virtual characters and players from the Soccomp class. The objective of the game is to decipher the identity of the person as to gender, club or organization affiliation or class block membership through asynchronus and synchronus discussions. Other objectives will build up as the activity moves on.

This is a Social Computing class experiment starting tonight, Oct. 26, 2007, 9:55pm, Manila time.

Mechanics:

1. The player should use an online/virtual identity (a short name easy to pronounce and easy to remember) and give a short introduction of her/himself--sharing her/his current interests, gender and age.
2. Language to be used in the communication maybe in English, Tagalog and the use of emoticons.
3. The first real-time discussion should start tonight using Yahoo Messenger. All players should initiate conversations with the moderator and the other players.
4. All players are required to create a thread with an interesting topic, and reply to at least 10 threads.

Let's start the ball rolling. Please wait for other updates in this experiment.

Hope you have an exciting online engagement! :)

Are we going to create a new account for this? since having our regular account join that group, it will be easier for others to find out who the person really is..
